Hello everyone! I hope I am doing this right.

I have an RP account for Jane Foster (from Marvel) and I have fallen in love with some icons made by the lovely paraliptic @ corelite (DW):

From midnight_road, I have gotten some really excellent screencaps from the Thor movie, and I would like to replicate the coloring style (I'm picky about my icons and I like them to kind of match across the board when it comes to color style and such). It doesn't have to be perfect, but I am hopeless when it comes to figuring out what kind of adjustments/layer effects they used.

So any advice, information, suggestions, or ideas would be loved! ♥

works better on bright pictures, if it looks to add dark add some brightness on the picture!

Hey everyone.
I'm new to icon coloring, but I'd really like to be able to do images like the three above. Just really brightly colored images that have a central focal point and the rest is blurred out. I was wondering if anyone could help me?
